BEYOND THE BOUNDARY
This is a vivid portrayal of my journey across various countries, capturing the essence of different cultures, landscapes, and moments. Going into places often unknown are fueled by my desire to go one step further and are marked by my keen eye for detail and composition. Photography was often my companion and my stress release away from competitive sport.

SOUTH AFRICA
My first AfrikaBurn was a truly transformative experience. I had always dreamed of photographing it, but being there in the heart of the South African desert was something else entirely. The energy was electric—a wild mix of art, music, and community spirit. As a regional offshoot of Burning Man, the event is all about radical self-expression and creativity, and I threw myself into it. Everywhere I turned, there were colorful installations, spontaneous performances, and incredible people from all walks of life, each adding their unique energy to the festival. The sense of freedom and celebration of individuality was unforgettable. It left me with a deeper appreciation for creativity and the power of human connection
KENYA
My journey to visit the Sumburu tribe was vibrant to say the least. As I watched their dances, admired their beadwork, and experienced their customs, I was immersed by the colour of their outfits. The Samburu's semi-nomadic lifestyle revealed to me their deep connection to the land and their livestock, allowing me to visualize their daily lives and challenges. I was struck by their resilience and the strong sense of community that binds them. My visit left me with a deep respect for the Samburu's rich heritage and their ability to maintain their traditions in a rapidly changing world.

ALASKA
Traversing the wild tundra of Alaska’s great outdoors with world renowned photographer David Yarrow was an unforgettable adventure. Surrounded by the breathtaking wilderness, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph grizzly bears in their natural habitat. David's expertise and passion for capturing wildlife in its rawest form inspired me to see the world through a new lens. Observing the powerful yet graceful bears as they fished and roamed the rugged landscape was awe-inspiring. The experience deepened my appreciation for nature's beauty and taught me the importance of patience and respect when interacting with wildlife. I have to say I pushed the boundaries somewhat running through deep rivers with my camera aloft hoping not to lose my footing - I put that down to the excitement of being in such an incredible part of the world for the first time.

MALDIVES
Stormy seas in the Maldives made a for a spectacular contrast of vivid blues… I was trying to capture the idyllic beauty of this paradise and the dark colours of the clouds made for some vibrant shots. Theres something very atmospheric about dark clouds and the advent of a big storm drawing closer and closer…
ABU DHABI
Abu Dhabi was a captivating journey where i was intent on capturing the grandeur of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. With its stunning white marble domes and intricately designed interiors, the mosque offered a rich tapestry of architectural beauty and spiritual serenity. I had to work hard for these shots, traversing its exterior trying to find the best place to photo from. I wanted to portray not just the mosque’s impressive scale but also its subtle details and the way light danced across its surfaces. I managed to find an old building and snuck into the emergency stair section climbing right to the top onto the roof… Safety has never been a concern as long as the shot is in sight!

PAKISTAN
My trip to Karachi in 2024 for cricket commentary coincided with the devastating floods that swept through the city, leaving an indelible mark on my experience. The stark contrast between the vibrant cricket stadium and the surrounding areas affected by flooding was both humbling and eye-opening. As I watched the resilience of the local community, I was struck by their ability to find hope and solidarity amid adversity. Witnessing first hand the challenges faced by residents, I was reminded of the importance of compassion and support during times of crisis. This experience added a profound layer of depth to my time in Karachi, enhancing my appreciation for the city's spirit and strength. I loved the colours of the lights, the drama of the moving water and surprisingly the good spirited nature of the people.
