JAPAN: RUGBY WORLD CUP & BEYOND
Watching the rugby World Cup in Japan was my first experience of Japanese culture and it didn’t disappoint. From the high rise fast paced capital of Tokyo to the mystical Kyoto with bamboo forests and temples and finally to see the truly amazing landscapes of Mount Fuji this was a culture different to anything I’ve seen. It was a South Africa vs England final which meant I had to opportunities to support teams I have associated with my whole life. South Africa were the better team and came out victorious. The impact on the country has been huge and I won’t forget the first black captain Siya Kolisi holding that trophy aloft.
